Vote Today
It's election day in Virginia. I always great this day with mixed emotions. The first is total dispair that I live in such a conservative state and the second is hope that my vote can make a difference.
I truly hope today is one of those days when my vote really does count. A truly horrific Constitutional Amendment has made it's way onto the Ballot, and I fear I will have to move out of the state if it passes. It's being posed as a gay marriage question (I won't go down that road here...suffice it to say that alone would make me vote No), but the implications are far broader than that. This ballot question could jeopardize any contractual arrangement between non-married people. It's insane. Look here for the entire text.
I feel a rant coming on, totally disturbing the peace and tranquilty I felt when I woke up this morning. So, I'm going to stop myself here and head out to the polls to cast my vote. I hope tomorrow the citizens of this state will have restored my faith in humanity and voted NO on Ballot Question 1.
